This describes what Looks Match (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the service, why, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. It forms part of the Terms of Use.
1. The short version
Your camera feed is analysed on your own device. Photographs and video from your scan are never uploaded and we never hold them. What we store is the resulting numbers — measurements of proportion, and the scores derived from them.
We run no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party session recording. There is one cookie and it exists to keep you logged in.
2. What we actually store
Account
Email address, a hashed password, the display name you choose, gender, and date of birth with the timestamp of your 18+ confirmation.
Scan results
Your composite Harmony Score, the Structure / Presentation / Capture sub-scores, and the individual facial-proportion measurements behind them. Derived from your camera on your device — no image is transmitted or kept.
Sessions
Which two accounts were connected, when it started and ended, and each side's score at the time. Not the video, and not the conversation — those are never recorded.
Ratings you give and receive
Whether someone would like to speak again, and any positive descriptive tags. Stored against both accounts so mutual interest can be detected.
Advisor conversations
The messages you send the advisor and its replies, so your history is there when you return, plus short free-text notes it distils about things you have told it (for example a stated skin sensitivity).
Subscription
Your plan, its status and renewal date, and the customer and subscription identifiers our payment processor gives us. We never see or store your card details.
Safety records
Reports you file or that are filed about you, and accounts you have blocked.
Technical
Short-lived counters used to rate-limit sign-in and other endpoints. Where the hosting setup makes a client IP address reliably available it is used as one of those counter keys; for sign-in attempts the key is a hash of the submitted email rather than the address itself.
3. Facial geometry
The scan locates several hundred landmarks on your face in your browser and computes distances, angles and ratios between them. Those measurements describe the geometry of your face and, taken together, are personal to you. Some laws treat measurements of this kind as biometric information.
We use them for one purpose: producing your score and matching you with people in a similar range. We do not use them to identify you, we do not attempt facial recognition, we do not sell them, and we do not share them with anyone for their own purposes.
By running a scan you consent to this. You can withdraw that consent by deleting your account, which deletes the measurements.
4. How long we keep it
Account data, scans and advisor history are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account they are deleted immediately, along with your ratings, reports you filed, blocks and advisor notes. Deletion cannot be undone.
Rate-limiting counters expire on their own within a day. Backups may briefly retain deleted records before rotating out. We may keep the minimum necessary to meet a legal obligation or to enforce a suspension against someone who has been removed for endangering others.
5. Who else sees your data
We use a small number of processors, and only for the purpose listed:
Anthropic — the AI advisor
When you message the advisor, your message, the conversation so far, your scan NUMBERS and the notes described above are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a reply. Your photo is never sent, because we do not have it. Do not tell the advisor anything you would not want processed by a third party.
Stripe — payments
Handles checkout and card details directly. We receive only the identifiers and subscription status needed to know what you are entitled to.
Hosting and infrastructure
Our database, cache and application servers store the data described above on our behalf.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers. We may disclose data where the law requires it, or where necessary to protect someone’s safety.
6. What other members can see
During a session the other person sees and hears your live video, and sees the display name you chose. They never see your email, date of birth, exact score, measurements or advisor history.
Ratings are private. We never show anyone how many people liked them as a figure, never reveal who declined, and only surface interest where it was mutual.
7. Cookies and local storage
One cookie, lm_session, keeps you signed in. It is HTTP-only and is not used for tracking. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
Your browser also stores a few preferences locally that never reach us: your light or dark theme choice, whether the advisor sidebar is collapsed, and whether you have dismissed a prompt.
8. Your rights
You can see and change your account details in settings, delete your advisor conversations and the notes taken from them, and delete your account outright at any time. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, export or restrict the use of your data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Write to looksmatchnet@outlook.com and we will respond.
9. Children
The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we delete accounts we believe belong to a minor.
10. Changes
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and give notice before a material change takes effect.
11. Contact
Privacy questions, or to exercise any of the above: looksmatchnet@outlook.com.
